Use the online worksheet below to record the results, findings and rechecks for one visit, then print your current record. Entries are temporary and are not saved or submitted to Tanvelo. What this inspection checklist is for
Use this record after a cleaning visit when a supervisor or other agreed reviewer needs to check the result. Start with the customer’s approved scope and the work due on that visit. A weekly or periodic task should not be marked as missed when it was not due.
A pre-bid walkthrough records what a site needs before you price the work. A cleaner’s task checklist guides completion. This inspection record captures what the reviewer could verify afterward, what still needs attention and how the follow-up was checked. Refer to the agreed proposal scope before inspecting.
The template is intended for general commercial cleaning. Adapt it to the property and agreement. It does not establish healthcare, food safety or specialist cleaning procedures, certify disinfection or replace site-specific instructions.
Use the ready-to-use inspection checklist
Choose a result for each check against the agreed work due on this visit. Add a linked finding and recheck where needed. Printing the current online record includes your entries; the PDF and Word downloads above remain blank templates.
Your online inspection worksheet
Temporary entries — not saved. Your entries stay in this page’s memory; nothing is submitted to Tanvelo. Print your current record before leaving. Leaving or refreshing may lose it. A leave warning is best-effort and is not reliable on every browser or device.
All fields are optional. Start with the agreed scope and work due on this visit. All 12 checks start Unanswered. Add at most one linked finding and recheck per check (12 total). Field limits are shown beside each entry; an over-limit edit is rejected, not shortened.
Use one explicit timezone for all service, inspection, due and recheck times. Evidence references are text only; do not enter people’s personal details, access secrets or sensitive documents.

Your browser, operating system and printer may retain copies. The blank downloads above are separate templates.

How to use the checklist
- Identify the exact visit. Record the property, service date and time, inspection time, reviewer and scope reference. Note whether the check was on site, based on submitted evidence or a combination.
- Check only the relevant work. Compare the agreed tasks due on this visit with what you can observe. Record inaccessible areas, missing evidence and any time between service and inspection.
- Describe the finding. Name the location and the difference from the agreed expectation. “Crumbs remain beneath the breakroom table where floor cleaning was due” gives the crew a clear correction to review.
- Agree the next action. Record the corrective action, responsible person or role and due date. A maintenance issue or new customer request may need a separate decision rather than a cleaning correction.
- Record the recheck. State what was checked, when and by whom. Keep unresolved items visible. A photo can support an observation, but it cannot prove every task or condition.
Do not mark an uninspected area as satisfactory. Record photography only where the customer and site permit it, and avoid including people, access secrets or sensitive documents.
A fictional office inspection example
Northfield Office Centre is a fictional example continuing the proposal and accepted-work resources. It is not a customer result or cleaning standard. The crew finishes an evening visit at 7:00 p.m.; a supervisor checks the agreed areas at 7:15 p.m..
| Area | Recorded result | Observation and next step |
|---|---|---|
| Reception floor | M - Meets scope | No visible loose debris in the agreed area at 7:15 p.m. |
| Breakroom floor | A - Needs attention | Crumbs beneath the table where floor cleaning was due. See F01. |
| Records room | N/I - Not inspected | Door locked. Access follow-up remains open; arrange a review time. |
| High interior glass | N/A - Not applicable | Above the agreed reach and outside this visit's scope. |
Finding F01 and its recheck
Crumbs remain beneath the breakroom table in the agreed floor-cleaning area. Remove the visible debris and review the same area again. The crew lead owns the correction, due before the next opening.
At 7:40 p.m., the supervisor rechecked beneath the table. No visible crumbs remained in the checked area. Recheck result: Resolved.
The locked records room remains not inspected. F01 is closed; the access limitation is still open. An inspection note does not change the original agreement; scope and approve new services separately.
Keep the review connected to the visit
A standalone checklist is useful when you need a consistent inspection record. As visits repeat, the office also needs the agreed requirements, submitted checklist, notes and photos in the context of the specific visit.
Tanvelo connects those completion details to the work being reviewed. Office staff can approve the submission or return it with a correction note so the crew knows what needs attention. See how cleaning proof of service is reviewed.
The online worksheet and downloadable checklist remain standalone. They do not import an inspection into Tanvelo.
Questions and answers
How is this different from a walkthrough checklist?
A walkthrough helps confirm the site and proposed scope before bidding. This checklist records observations after service against the work agreed for that visit.
Does a checked task mean the work passed inspection?
Task completion and review are different records. Check the result and supporting context before marking the inspection item as meeting scope.
What if an area cannot be inspected?
Mark it Not inspected, record the reason and identify the next step. Do not silently treat it as a pass or remove it from the record.
Does the template calculate a quality score?
No. It uses clear result categories and a findings log. There is no universal percentage score or certification.
Can I edit the checklist?
The PDF is ready to print and use without a PDF editor. The Word version contains the same written checks and can be adapted in a compatible editor. Apply the checks only to the agreed scope and work due on the visit.
